I couldn’t agree more. So many times we get stuck in a job that we hate and have no interest in doing. It is so hard to accelerate in a position that doesn’t excite you.
You have to find your dream job. Something which intrigues you to want to do, and to want to learn more about it. What do you love to do that will make you get up early rather than hit the snooze button?
You already know what you love to do; it’s your favorite thing to do. Think about what interests you have, write them down. Think about what skills you have learned and write them down.
Get to know yourself, your interests, your hobbies, and what you enjoy doing more than anything else.
You have to love what you do!
Take some quiet time by yourself and think about what you are passionate about doing. Your first thought may be that you don’t know what you love to do. But you do know. Everyone has something they love to do more than anything else.
What do you love to do? What is your dream job?
Do you enjoy cutting all your friends hair, doing their nails, cooking, cleaning houses, building things, playing video games, creating websites, skateboarding, playing ball, bicycle riding, working on cars, teaching, drawing, talking, walking dogs… I think you get the picture.
Find what you love to do… something you enjoy. If you love what you do then you will be good at it naturally.

When your love for something is deep you find ways to learn more about it, and it doesn’t matter how long it takes to master it. Because it is something you are passionate about, your actions will be on achieving your goal, your dream. You will get there.
Nothing can stop you from attaining your dream job if you love what you do passionately, and are determined to master it.
But how do you do what you love and make money doing it? It’s not enough to think you can, you’ve got to know you can.
Firstly, if you love what you do the money will follow. So, you must love your job and love what you do. Think of ways (in terms of work) to make money that will excite and interest you. Look at how others make money doing what they love in the same field. Where there’s a will there’s a way.
Secondly, never give up. Loving what you do will give you the strength to overcome adversity. Be determined to achieve your dream and you will find a way to master it. Learn from every adventure and look at all situations as positive lessons… the stepping stones of success.
Be prepared, it can take years to achieve your dream.
Most overnight successful people spent more than a decade working on their profession to know that glory. They never stopped working on perfecting their craft because they love what they do… and they make a living doing what they love best.

Steve Jobs’ made an impressive commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005. He spoke to the graduates about three stories in his life: connecting the dots, love and loss, and his near death experience.
His speech was personal and made several good points to think about on your journey toward career success.
Steve Jobs overcame his fears, followed his instincts and chose to do what interests him the most. He loves what he does.
As I wrote Love What You Do (for the second time since I started writing my book, The Habits of Achievement, in 1997) it became clear that for the past fifteen years I was actually working toward accomplishing 'what I love to do' successfully.
Like Steve Jobs, I looked back at what I’ve done and connected the dots only to realize that I had been working toward achieving my dream the entire time. What I experienced in the past was actually preparing me for today.

I am grateful for the opportunity to continue doing what I love most... helping others achieve their goals.
